Guys over at Symbianoid.org are busy testing applications on the latest Nokia touch device, i.e. the Nokia N97. The one I had an opportunity to try was Facebook Application for S60 5th Edition devices viz. Nokia N97 and Nokia 5800 XpressMusic. Although Symbianoid.org is still in Alpha and is open to a select people, they were kind enough to send me a countdown timer to the public launch of their site. Its totally rocking and people who are a part of the alpha project know why

Coming back to the Facebook application on Nokia N97. The application is free to download from the Nokia Ovi Store. Install is simple and the application is ready to go in no time. The interface is simple yet powerful. The touch response is great . For a application Version 1.0.3808 it is great.

It has 5 main tabs at the bottom. Home, Profile, Friends, Photos & Inbox. These are further divided into various sub-tabs. You can upload pictures from the gallery or click new ones. Update status easily. Poke friends and much more. Following are a few screenshots of the application running on N97.

The home screen widget is also great. It not only displays our current status but also shows messages in Inbox, number of Pokes and friend requests. Still we don’t have the chat function but I am sure it will follow soon.

Nokia have finally released the details of the N97 processor chip the phone is armed with an  ARM11 CPU with a clock speed at 434MHz. Will this be enough for the multimedia beast even though the phone is designed and aimed more at web browsing Email compilation and the office ? Only time sales and the consumer will tell if this is enough to power this beauty of a phone. What are your thoughts?

Latest BAD NEWS about the Nokia N97 that Nokia made a little change in the UI and make it worse by Removing the virtual keyboard FROM N97. This movement was unexpected From this Great company.I think they remove it but they will make it back in the Nearest Firmware Update so if you want back wait for the Next Software update For the N97.

If you want it back you can go and Sign HERE , I encourage everyone to sign this petition so that Nokia puts this feature back on its flagship device.
